1978
Manuel Rodrigues Gouveia, Lda. Is founded with the headquartered in Seia, and its activity focused on Real Estate development and provision of Construction services to Local Authorities, State Departments and individuals, in the district of Guarda.

1989The company changes its name to Manuel Rodrigues Gouveia, S.A. and starts to focus more on the Civil Construction and Public Works. The main customers were the Ministries of Education, Health and Justice. At the same time, there was an increase in property development activity, promoted by Housing Development Contracts (CDH), through agreements with the National Housing Institute (INH).

1994
It is created a new company - Equipav – Gestão de Equipamentos, S.A. (Equipment Management) whose goal was to autonomously manage the equipment necessary for the execution of MRG’s works.

2000A new business area is born encompassing the construction of roads, infrastructure and environment. The company’s operating area is broadened to operate throughout the country.

2002Due to the growth of the group, MRG is to be considered, thereafter, one of the leading companies at national level in various business areas in which it operates.

2005The Operational Headquarters moved to Coimbra.

2006The company establishes a development policy that involves the diversification and internationalization of its activities. In the same year, the group initiates the internationalization in several markets.

2013Earlier in this year, MRG Construction SARL is established in Bordeaux, France, and later the Group also expands to Mozambique, where it is created MRG-Construção e Engenharia (Construction and Engineering) S.A.. A year later it is created MRG, SPA in Algeria and a branch in Cape Verde, which begins with the execution of the first contract in this country.

2015Due to the growing importance of internationalization and diversification for the Group, a reorganization of the corporate strategy and image of the group companies around the MRG brand, is carried out.
Also in 2015, MRG continues its internationalization strategy, entering the market of Guinea , being present in a total of 6 countries.
