This avenue of an Alentejo town, known for its proximity to the beach Vasco da Gama and the ludic events taking place there, as the Carnival Parade and the Músicas do Mundo Festival has been renewed, transforming the beach avenue to a leisure space, fit for people, festive initiatives, fairs, sports, shows and tourist and leisure activities.
The intervention included the reduction in the number of lanes (one in each direction) and the creation of a public footpath with 13.5m wide, complemented by a bike path. The contract also involved the installation of an elevator that connects Avenida Vasco da Gama to the historic city center.
