This project, whose goal was the union between the old and new part of town, consisted of the rehabilitation of 4 km of shore, forming the New City Park, which was equipped with a bike path along the river, the refurbishment of the sports pavilion and an underground car park with capacity for 250 car places. For the margins union, it was constituted a bridge – Ponte do Flecheiro - with 3 spans of reinforced and prestressed concrete, containing a total length of 71.5m and a 17m width. The work also involved the implementation of new sewage pipeline, connected to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
