This Pavilion is an equipment with unique characteristics, in the metropolitan area of Lisbon, and was built in just 13 months, occupying a total area of 10.600m2. It enjoys an internal organization that allows the realization of many activities simultaneously, with a good peripheral circulation and rational use of energy. In architectural terms, the Pavilion is shaped like an elongated trapezoid, having entries at different levels and is prepared to receive training sports activities and competition, covering several sports, but also allows the realization of cultural events like exhibitions and concerts, as well as socio-economic events, trade shows, conferences and professional meetings. The main room has 30x48m and was prepared to receive the hockey practice, handball, futsal, basketball, volleyball, badminton, gymnastics, squash and other forms of covered enclosure activities. The Multiuse Pavilion serves 155,000 inhabitants, the second largest Pavilion of the Lisbon metropolitan area, with 2,000 seats and 7,000 standing.
